Remember, shadows are not all gray or black. The shadow on the brown table should be a darker brown rather than gray. Shadows are also influenced by the colors around it, such as reflected light from the object casting the shadow. This will give your paintings a more realistic look. This one is nice.
The overall light in this painting makes it stand out in a special way. There seems to be a sort of diffused radiance in the picture that I like. Can't quite figure out how you did it. Great work Leanna!
